Kicks for Kids v3: Charity Shoe Drive 2009

Presented by the Sneaker Suite/Shoe City/Scion/Everyday PPLE

December 20th from 12p-8p in The Mall at Prince George’s

From the invite that we got from iCan from over at the Sneaker Suite….

Join us for the the third annual Kicks For Kids Charity Shoe Drive event! Last year over 300 new shoes were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington. This year, shoes purchased at Shoe City will be donated to the Sasha Bruce Youthwork, So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.), & the Steve Francis Foundation Organizations. To help in our community efforts, we are bringing you Jive recording artists Raheem DeVaughn, Interscope recording artist Wale, Celebrity Chef ‘Rock’ & NBA Star Steve Francis live & in person. Have an opportunity to meet & greet with our hometown heros & help us all make a difference in our communities by helping those less fortunate & in need during this Holiday season.

As an incentive to those who donate, Shoe City will give you a 10% off friends and family discount towards your entire purchase for your last minute holiday shopping. In addition, Scion will have a special gift bag with movie passes, shirts, hats, key chains, & other cool items. We also have NBA Star Steve Francis who will have some exclusive NBA product to give away to those who donate in numbers. All day long, we plan to have a ton of surprises just for helping us in the communities that we live & serve in.

Big Boi & Clipse ft. Yelawolf – November 27th (ATL)

by Spottie Ottie on Nov.10, 2009, under Events

If you stay down in the A-Town, that means all ya’ll from East Point to Duluth, up around Buckhead and all the way out to our Marietta Folk, you need to check this out.  This is going to be special.

One of our boys from the old school high school turned us on to the Gallery Group ATL.

These guys renovated the King Plow Art Center and turned it into a place to see some solid live shows.

And rest assured, they’ve got a plan. You’ll be spending more of your time here in the future.

They are  launching Gallery Group Atlanta with Big Boi, Clipse and Yelawolf on Friday November 27th!

First-  Simply put, you need to go to this. We hung with these guys a few times in Athens Georgia, they know how to throw a party. Go be good amongst good people

Second-  What do you have to do that is better than this? I can tell you what isn’t…going to the Peachtree Tavern once again in hopes of spending way more of your hard earned cash trying to take home some Georgia State Coed than what it would cost to see Big Boi/Daddy Fat Sacks/ General Patton/Sir Lucious L. Leftfoot/Billy Ocean.

And even in this shit economy, you can afford this:

There are 3 Tiers of Tickets Available for this Event:
General Admission-
$38.50 (21+)
General Admission Under 21 Years old ticket
$48.50 (18+)
General Admission with access to New Belgium Brewing Station (all you can
drink beer from10-2)
$65.00 (21+ obvioiusly)
VIP Lounge with Top-Shelf Open Bar w/ exclsuive viewing area (VERY limited number available):
$105.00 (21+)

“This is going to be an amazing evening and we are offering 3 incredible acts in an exclusive and intimate atmosphere. We have DJ Mayhem spinning throughout the night and Gallery Group’s own Priceless the Kid will be hosting the event along with other special guests! Come enjoy an incredible night at our venue located in the heart of downtown Atlanta!”

More information here.

We’ll see you guys there. Holla.

No More Kanye and Ga Ga Tour

by Spottie Ottie on Oct.02, 2009, under Events

Live Nation has announced that the Kanye/Lady Gaga “Fame Kills” tour has been canceled due to rumors of everything from “ticket sales” to “creative differences”. First of all, is anyone really surprised? We are all about bringing people together but the crowd at a Kanye/Gaga concert just doesn’t seem to us like it would flow well. Even though we don’t listen to a lot of the lady Gaga (although we enjoy it when we hear it) and in our opinion Kanye hasn’t made a decent Album since Late Registration (truth), we’re still sorry to hear it’s been canceled. We know a lot of people girls with tickets. For those of you that did purchased tickets, Live Nation is refunding your purchases online and by phone. Kanye, do us one solid and announce a tour with these guys. You owe us some quality. Lady Gaga, we hear 50 is free.
